The Animates: Learning In Liverpool is an illustrated children’s book written by Natalie Reeves Billing and commissioned by Knowledge Quarter Liverpool and Catapult Connected Places. The book was created with a focus on inspiring the next generation of inventors and exploring the exciting wealth of innovation in Liverpool. For this book, I re-designed existing characters to reboot the aesthetics of The Animates, and engaged with sci-fi imagery to deliver an exciting visual world of science and technology. The project also involved communicating with various associations based in Knowledge Quarter Liverpool to ensure exciting but also sensitive representation of their respective departments.
